The HH2500P is a glass-body combination pH electrode designed for clean and relatively low-conductivity water, including purified water, tap water, surface water, swimming pools, secondary water supplies, and recirculating or cooling-water systems.

Its cylindrical HL low-impedance glass membrane has a specified resistance below 100 MΩ. The cylindrical geometry provides a large sensing area, while the lower electrical resistance supports responsive signal stabilization in water with conductivity from 20 to 300 μS/cm when connected to a compatible high-input-impedance pH transmitter.

A double-junction reference system provides an additional separation barrier between the sample and internal reference element. The standard configuration combines low-viscosity PCG polymer-gel electrolyte with a special multi-porous ceramic junction, providing multiple ionic contact paths with the sample while helping reduce the migration of contaminants into the internal reference system.

The HH2500P uses a standard PG13.5 process connection and is available in insertion lengths from 120 to 425 mm. Multiple connector, temperature-sensor, and cable configurations allow integration into compatible flow-through chambers, immersion holders, retractable assemblies, and water-treatment equipment.

Standard configurations operate at pressures up to 3 bar. A reinforced construction is available for process pressures up to 6 bar, subject to the applicable temperature, holder, seals, and installation conditions.

    Key benefits

    • Designed for lower-conductivity water: Recommended for clean-water media with conductivity from 20 to 300 μS/cm.
    • Cylindrical HL glass membrane: Combines a large sensing area with membrane resistance below 100 MΩ.
    • Double-junction reference: Adds a second barrier between the sample and internal reference element.
    • Multi-porous ceramic junction: Provides multiple ionic contact paths between the reference system and sample.
    • Flexible process integration: PG13.5 connection fits compatible inline, immersion, and retractable holders.
    • Customizable insertion depth: Available in lengths from 120 to 425 mm.
    • Optional reinforced construction: Available for applications requiring pressures up to 6 bar.

    Configuration options

    • Insertion length: Selectable from 120 to 425 mm according to the process holder and required immersion depth.
    • Junction configuration: Available with single-, dual-, or triple-point porous ceramic junctions.
    • Reinforced pressure construction: Available for process pressures up to 6 bar.
    • Connector configuration: Multiple detachable cable and connector formats are available.
    • Extended cable: Cable lengths up to 60 metres, subject to transmitter and installation compatibility.
    • Integrated temperature sensor: Selectable NTC, Pt100, and Pt1000 options.

    Measurement and installation notes

Lower-conductivity water is more sensitive to unstable flow, pressure variation, static charge, grounding, air exposure, and carbon-dioxide absorption. Where practical, install the electrode in a closed, low-pressure flow-through assembly with stable sample flow and temperature.

Keep the electrode connector and signal cable clean and dry. Ground loops, moisture, excessive cable length, or insufficient transmitter input impedance can cause unstable or biased readings.

Install the glass membrane facing downward or at a suitable downward angle. Protect it from direct impact, excessive tightening, trapped air, and high-velocity abrasive particles.

Automatic temperature compensation adjusts the temperature-dependent response of the electrode. It does not necessarily convert the sample to the pH it would have at 25 °C.

The 6 bar reinforced option must be checked against the complete pressure-temperature conditions of the electrode, holder, seals, and process connection.
