HH1000 Economical & Durable pH Electrode
Product overview
The HH1000 is a general-purpose combination pH electrode designed for dependable, cost-conscious measurement in water, wastewater, and water-treatment equipment. It combines a reinforced pH-sensitive glass membrane, a long-path reference system, and a glass-fiber-reinforced ABS housing to provide a practical balance of measurement performance, physical durability, and installation flexibility.
Its long reference path is designed to slow the migration of contaminants toward the internal reference system, helping maintain a more stable reference potential during extended online operation. A ring-shaped PTFE junction provides a broad liquid-junction area between the electrode and the process medium, while the PCG polymer-gel electrolyte supports low-maintenance operation without routine electrolyte refilling.
The HH1000 features 3/4-inch NPT threads at both ends and an extended 180 mm body. With compatible mounting hardware, it can be installed directly in a pipeline, flow-through assembly, immersion holder, or water-treatment system. An IP68-rated construction supports submerged applications, subject to the specified cable connection and installation requirements.
With a 0–14 pH measuring range, operation from 0 to 80 °C, and optional integrated temperature sensors, the HH1000 can be configured for a wide variety of controllers and transmitters. For applications involving higher temperatures or more chemically aggressive media, the housing can be upgraded from ABS-GF to PPS.
Why choose the HH1000?
Stable reference design
The long-path reference system is designed to reduce the rate at which process contaminants reach the internal reference element, supporting stable measurement in routine water and wastewater applications.
Durable sensor construction
The glass-fiber-reinforced ABS body provides greater mechanical rigidity than conventional unreinforced plastic housings. The reinforced HC glass membrane is intended for general-purpose pH measurement where both sensitivity and physical durability are important.
Flexible installation
Dual 3/4-inch NPT mounting threads allow the same electrode platform to be integrated into compatible immersion, inline, and equipment-mounted assemblies.
Broad transmitter compatibility
Multiple temperature-compensation options—including NTC, Pt100, and Pt1000 sensors—allow the electrode to be matched to different pH transmitters and controllers.
Configurable for the application
Optional PPS housing, dual-junction reference construction, low-impedance HL glass, and extended cable lengths allow the basic electrode to be adapted to more demanding installation conditions.
Configuration options
- PPS housing: For applications requiring greater thermal or chemical resistance than standard ABS-GF construction.
- Dual-junction reference: Adds another separation barrier between the process and internal reference system.
- HL low-impedance glass: Available for applications requiring a lower-resistance pH membrane.
- Extended cable: Cable assemblies can be supplied in lengths up to 60 metres, subject to transmitter compatibility and installation conditions.
- Temperature sensor selection: The internal temperature element can be matched to the input requirements of the intended controller.
Typical applications
The HH1000 is suitable for general-purpose pH measurement in:
- Domestic sewage and wastewater monitoring
- Industrial wastewater-treatment systems
- Municipal water and water-treatment equipment
- Agricultural irrigation and fertigation systems
- Aquaculture and fish-farming systems
- Tanks, channels, pipelines, and flow-through assemblies
- OEM dosing, filtration, and process-control equipment
Application and installation notes
The HH1000 should be installed with the glass bulb facing downward or at a suitable downward angle; the bulb should not face upward. For inline service, avoid trapped air, negative pressure, excessive backpressure, and stagnant sample conditions.
Automatic temperature compensation adjusts the electrode’s temperature-dependent response slope. It does not necessarily convert the process sample to the pH it would have at 25 °C, because the actual chemical equilibrium of the sample may also change with temperature.
For chemically aggressive liquids, solvents, strong oxidising agents, or prolonged high-temperature operation, confirm the compatibility of the housing, glass membrane, junction, seals, and cable before selection.
